In the Southern Historical Collection, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (#3694-z); Elias Brady of Warren County, Ind., enlisted as a musician in Company D, 86th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Army of the Cumberland, in August 1862.
