Travel as a category includes the works related to the movement of people or objects (such as airplanes, boats, trains and other conveyances) between relatively distant geographical locations, often to desireable destinations for recreational activites.
In this latest book, John Clark, author of the highly regarded "Beaches of Hawaii" series, gives us the many captivating stories behind the hundreds of Hawaii place names associated with the ocean—the names of shores, beaches, and other sites where people fish, swim, dive, surf, and paddle. Significant features and landmarks on or near shores, such as fishponds, monuments, shrines, reefs, and small islands, are also included. The names of surfing sites are the most nu...
In 1966 the University of Hawaii Press published the first edition of Place Names of Hawaii. Written by Mary Kawena Pukui and Samuel H. Elbert, it contained 1,125 entries, all of which were place names in the Hawaiian language. In 1974 the press published the second edition by Pukui, Elbert, and Esther T. Mookini. It contained some four thousand entries, and this time it included place names in English and other languages. This edition, in the words of the authors, provi...

"Writing books is the closest men ever came to having children (Norman Mailer)". This book is my baby born out of my love of nature. Keralans believe love multiplies by sharing, and hereby I emulate them

"Time is of the essence. And on a timeline of this journey, specific dates have been drawn. As great distances have been covered, it has taken a long time for this book to be written. Snapshots started as a diary, but evolved over time into a book. Dynamic in its own right, at the end of each traverse, another begins anew and is recorded in the travelogue. "

I wrote this book to support our fundraising. I wanted to have something original to give back to donors. Another reason was, that our volunteers enjoyed our food and wanted to know, how to cook it. This was an easy way to achieve this. Some dishes they learnt to cook during their stay with us, but not all and it was nice for them to look them up again at home. As our youngest son has Celiac this book contains many Gf dishes as well as vegetarian dishes. Burmese food is ...

He quits his job, stuffs a few clothes and some personal items into an old navy duffel bag, sends all of his other possessions to the bin or the charity sho...

Smarandache launched a new literary genre, artistic, adapted to the contemporary reader and writer hurriedly called INSTANT FOTOJURNAL appropriate...
A book on Florentin Smarandache's travels through Russia.
Rusia – mamă vitregă pentru România!
În Moscova, sunt 11 linii de metrou. Pe hartă, apar cu diverse culori. Vechiul oraş e cuprins în interiorul liniei 5 (centura). Nouln oraş s-a dezvoltat împrejur.
Florentin Smarandache records his account of his emigration from Romania to America in this journal.
