Adventure (99 Books)

In fiction, the adventurer figure or Picaro may be regarded as a descendant of the knight-errant of Medieval romance. Like the knight, the adventurer roams through episodic encounters, usually involving wealth, romance, or fighting. Unlike the knight, the adventurer was a realistic figure, often lower class or otherwise impoverished, who is forced to make his way to fortune, often by deceit. Also, an adventurer is a roguish hero of low social class who lives by his or her wits in a corrupt society.

The Success Man : Life is all about Success

By: Andre Cronje

The Success Man will dare you to dream, think and to inspire change. The Success man always expands, evolve and change like updates on Microsoft or Apple, and is therefore never complete. It is full of quotes, dark saying, riddles, proverbs and philosophy. It came through much observation and searching to understand the simplicity and complexity of the life we live in. I hope you will enjoy the content. It will challenge the status quo some regard as sacred.

1.The first step to success is to take a step forward. Be bold accepting the challenge to run for glory. If you fail to participate nothing will happen. Get in there and just start anywhere. 2. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Six days of awesome wonders and wisdom and on the 7th day He rested from all His works. You are fearful and wonderfully made. 3. Endure the school of hard knocks and setbacks, till you succeed with honors. 4. Be content wi...

In time stories began to emerge proclaiming his greatness and his near-divinity status. Over generations and into d...

"Buddha did not waste time with external worldly conditions. He had seen through their transient nature and decided to go in search of happiness directly and not derive it through conditional proxies. At 35 (quite the prime ofhis life), Buddha knew exactly what it was like to taste that exquisite inner peace that is not dependant on fickle, short-lived external conditions. After six years of exacting spiritual practice under very painful conditions, he succeeded in his q...

O Lobo que Virou Homem e Outras Histórias

By: Marcelo Hipolito

Estas viraram pés; as dianteiras, m...

By: Ph.D. Steven D. Aguzzi

"The purpose of this essay is threefold. First, I seek to trace a brief history of the concept of catholicity within the Reformed tradition and offer this historical context as an explanation for its resistance to traditional conceptions of the Church. Second, I will show how Georges Florovsky’s work “The Boundaries of the Church,” offers a better point of reference for Orthodox dialogue with Churches of the Reformed Tradition than other Orthodox ecclesiologies, such...

Touring Nuremberg by Streetcar - Token

By: James Terry Martin

Each token theme is summarized and placed in context. Other related art is depicted to enhance the presentation.

A wonderful series of Nürnberg – Fürth Strassenbahn (Streetcar) tokens were issued during the Weimar Republic, following the Great War. While they can be classified as transportation tokens they are commonly attributed as German notgeld (emergency money). Notgeld was used during the inflationary period brought on by reparations payments stipulated by the terms of the Treaty of Versailles after WWI.

138: When My Love Swears That She Is Made of Truth When my love swears that she is made of truth, I do believe her, though I know she lies, That she might think me some untutored youth, Unlearned in the world’s false subtleties. Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young, Although she knows my days are past the best, Simply I credit her false speaking tongue: On both sides thus is simple truth suppressed. But wherefore says she not she is unjust? And where...
